Marcia did an amazing job assisting my husband and I with both selling and buying a home. With state of the real estate market during our process, there were unforeseen complications but having an advocate like Marcia on our side enabled us to navigate through what would otherwise have been a daunting experience. We purchased a new construction home so there were a lot of extra steps that Marcia helped us with including multiple inspections, contract negotiations, new construction delays, etc. She was a strong and knowledgeable advocate for us throughout the construction process. Marcia clearly explained the real estate processes to us and helped to ease our minds during what could've been a much more stressful process. Marcia was a great help and resource through our property buying process, sticking with us through almost purchasing a two-flat and then through buying our first house (yay!). Marcia always has a lot of information, whether it's about neighborhoods, contractors, or schools.
Early on, we sat down with Marcia and had a long talk about what we were looking for, so she knew what we would or would not be interested in - because of this, it didn't take long for her to find us what we were looking for (unlike the last agent we worked with, who seemed to want to show us EVERYTHING - Marcia helped us clarify our search).

I really didn't like to work with real estate agents (I had many bad experiences) until I met Marcia Badillo. She is just the best and changed my mind about their job. I remember when I met her she did not sound desperate like many others real estate agents who I've met before. She just asked me for details and my permission to send me some properties that I might be interested in. I spent some time looking at properties with her and saw how professional she was at her job. It did not take me long to realize that if I really wanted to sell my place, Marcia would be the best choice. I had my condo for "sale by owner" and I needed to purchase a single family home.
The best part is that my condo was sold in one week. Marcia also helped me with many others aspects of the process. My attorney was not the best and missed important details that Marcia pointed out before the closing date. Communication with the buyer was very difficult, and the developer of the new home that I was buying as well. I think without her experience it wouldn't have been that easy or it may not have happened.
Today I have a new construction single family home and I am very happy!

I moved to Chicago from Washington, DC in August of 2007. My search for a home began on the internet, where I found Dream Town's user-friendly website, and my agent, Marcia Badillo. I e-mailed Marcia and warned her that my price range was under $250K -- I'm a teacher -- and that I didn't want even to look at anything I couldn't afford. My timeframe was also very tight -- I could only come to Chicago for one day to look for a new place to live. None of this seems to bother Marcia or deter her from giving me outstanding service. She treated me as if I were a million-dollar client, not someone who could barely afford to buy in this market. I arrived early in the morning on a Monday in May, she showed me the 14 properties we had singled out on the web in advance, and by 11:45am we were in a coffee shop in Rogers Park making an offer and writing a check for earnest money. She was patient, supportive, and worked within my parameters and brought all her skills and knowledge to the table. She referred me to an exceptional attorney who handled all my affairs, even from long distance. When my condo in DC didn't close on time due to a deed-filing error (not under my control), she stuck by me and communicated with the attorney and the seller's agent on a daily basis until we finally closed a month later.
I couldn't imagine a more positive experience than working with Marcia.

We stumbled across Marcia one Sunday afternoon at an open house. We had just started looking for our first Condo. Marcia Badillo puts the Real in Realtor! I was looking at buying my first place and Marcia took the time to explain how important it was to consider the location, and then what was in my financial means. To do so, Marcia met me at my local Starbucks on a Saturday and explained the entire buying process. She provided me not only a cup of coffee, but a very detailed timeline which included referrals of attorneys as well as property inspectors. It was so helpful to have that information through out my entire house hunting experience. I felt very informed and aware of each step in the process.
She would send me MLS updates daily and always schedule appointments to look at condos when it was convenient for me. Marcia always had my needs in mind.
She is also a very patient agent. She and I must have looked at 10 or places before I finally found my place!

Marcia has been my realtor for 3 different home transactions (2 as a buyer, 1 as a seller) and each time I have relied more and more on her judgment and professionalism, and trust her implicitly at every step of the process. We were new to Chicago and really got lucky to meet Marcia. We knew she had other clients but she made us feel like we were her only ones. Most real estate agents I have come across in my life have always followed the same pattern; they are your best friend when you are looking or selling. After you sign the contract they find little time for you. At the closing they are no where to be found and don't return phone calls. Marcia is an EXCEPTION to this pattern!! She was honest, knowledgeable and friendly throughout the entire process. I probably phoned her 30 times over the month and a half ordeal of buying a new condo.
